Sales & Orders

Can CAST-TV support 150–160 live television channels?

Yes. Supporting approximately 150–160 concurrent linear channels is within the scope of the CAST-TV architecture, subject to final infrastructure sizing.

Under the referenced quotation, the first 50 HD ABR channels are included. An additional 100 HD ABR channels incur recurring OPEX. For a 160-channel deployment, pricing for all 110 additional channels must be confirmed.

During onboarding, CAST-TV configures the platform and CDN and tests the environment using your M3U/M3U8 feeds.

You provide stable source feeds, credentials where applicable, channel information, and EPG metadata. Final resource requirements depend on bitrate, resolution, source format, redundancy, and transcoding requirements.

Who is responsible for ABR encoding and transcoding?

CAST-TV supports live and VOD encoding/transcoding and adaptive bitrate delivery using formats such as HLS and MPEG-DASH.

If your origin already provides the required ABR profiles, the CDN can ingest and distribute them without unnecessary transcoding.

If additional profiles are required, CAST-TV will define and configure an appropriate transcoding workflow during technical onboarding, subject to the agreed architecture and commercial scope.

Send your test M3U/M3U8 streams for evaluation before redesigning your origin infrastructure.

Which white-label applications are included?

CAST-TV supports applications for:

  • Web browsers
  • iOS smartphones and tablets
  • Android smartphones and tablets
  • Android TV and Google TV devices
  • Samsung Smart TVs
  • LG Smart TVs

Applications included in the final quotation are configured with your branding, service identity, and backend environment.

App-store submissions and publication requirements are coordinated during onboarding. Store approval remains subject to each store's policies.

How does MAG555 device provisioning work?

The MAG555 is a Google TV device suitable for deployment of a compatible Android/Google TV application.

For B2B projects, provisioning may include device identification, account association, activation, deactivation, package assignment, authentication, and API or bulk provisioning.

The final workflow is defined during technical discovery based on your business model and deployment requirements.

Can EPG updates be automated using XMLTV?

Yes. CAST-TV supports electronic program guides for linear television.

XMLTV sources can be ingested, mapped to corresponding channel IDs, and synchronized automatically after configuration and validation.

Provide a sample XMLTV file or URL together with your M3U/M3U8 channel feeds during onboarding.

How does Pay As You Grow CDN pricing work?

The Pay As You Grow model allows operators to begin with contracted subscriber and capacity tiers and expand as their service grows.

Under the described HD quotation, data traffic is not separately billed by GB/TB within the agreed subscriber/capacity tier and usage conditions.

Additional capacity, higher concurrency, and 4K streaming may require separately priced infrastructure.

Subscriber tiers, bitrate assumptions, concurrency limits, and any applicable additional charges must be documented in the final agreement.

What is included in the recurring monthly OPEX?

Depending on the contracted package, recurring OPEX includes:

  • CMS/backend platform usage and hosting
  • Platform maintenance, updates, and fixes
  • Maintenance of contracted applications
  • Backend connectivity and agreed integrations
  • Platform and CDN technical support
  • CDN operation within contracted capacity

Potential exclusions include payment transaction fees, developer accounts, external DRM licenses, third-party EPG services, channel/VOD content rights, additional infrastructure, and 4K processing.

The signed quotation and service agreement determine the final inclusions and exclusions.

Onboarding & Testing

What happens after an order is confirmed?

CAST-TV begins software platform and CDN configuration while the customer supplies channel feeds, VOD assets, EPG data, branding, and other service information.

Both teams validate ingest, stream quality, ABR requirements, EPG synchronization, CDN delivery, and application playback.

The target for initial environment configuration is approximately one month, followed by testing, acceptance, and resolution of integration issues before commercial launch.

This is a planning target rather than an unconditional delivery guarantee.

What information should customers provide for technical testing?
  • Test M3U or M3U8 live-channel URLs
  • XMLTV/EPG sample feeds
  • Stream bitrates, formats, and resolutions
  • Source authentication credentials where applicable
  • Channel names and identifiers
  • Expected subscriber concurrency and peak traffic
  • Device and application requirements
  • Branding and subscription package information
Does CAST-TV provide technical deployment and training?

CAST-TV can assist with system configuration, integration, application customization, testing, and operational onboarding. Training and the precise scope of assistance are defined in the project agreement.
